How many times have you heard someone say, “kids today have no idea what that is?” The world is changing and nothing changes faster than technology. The changes in technology over the last 50 years have been amazing; for example, TV went to color, phones went mobile, computers shrank from needing an air-conditioned room to the tablets we have today, letters went digital, and social interaction went online. Most of these changes happened so fast that we all just went with the flow to stay up to speed and survive. That is the point to this blog. To survive in this ever changing world we must adapt. By adapting we are acknowledging that what we are currently doing is no longer efficient and we need to change. The definition of adapt is: make (something) suitable for a new use or purpose; modify. Most of the time, we are doing this with little to no effort. If we are not careful, we will adapt without acknowledging the consequences. This is exactly what Satan wants us to do. He wants us to be so concerned with keeping up with the changes in technology and society that our mind is no longer on Jesus.
The bible tells us in Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Children today are bombarded with all sorts of stimulus and most of it is not Christ like. If we don’t keep them grounded with prayer, reading the bible, and church then the world will take over and we will lose them to Satan.
So how do we handle all this changing? We turn to Jesus. Isaiah 41:13 – For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. You would not drive your care if your check engine light comes on. You would take it to the shop and get it fixed to put your vehicle back to a baseline state, so if something else breaks you will know it. The same goes for your life. We all must adapt, but we also should not loose site of the ultimate goal. Jesus is the best baseline to fall back on when you feel your life goes off the path. If your life starts to get out of control you can go back to Jesus, the only one who will never change. Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Don’t continue to live your life broken and confused. Go to the shop and let Jesus bring you back to baseline. Don’t let Satan tell you everything is ok and you don’t need Jesus. Don’t continue to adapt to changes that are not Godly. Don’t allow your children to fall victim to the changes in this world without knowing who they can lean on in times of trouble. We all need maintenance from time to time. Continue to go to church, read your bible and pray that God will lead and guide you so you will know when Satan is breaking you and you are in need of repair from the almighty.
